We've only just had the first class of the portrait course and already so much work has been done! An exercise that approaches drawing the head by making use of the notion of the whole. The student is asked to start the drawing by building up a "cloud" that will take form and from which a head will emerge. The results are always surprising and reenforce the approach that uses our innate capacities of observation.
